Interior design and wow factor
Interior design and wow factor characterize the renovation of an apartment in Catania.
The 140 sqm apartment, on the second floor, is inhabited by a family consisting of two parents and a daughter. The latter’s desire was to expand the living area without moving the existing kitchen systems, creating two bathrooms and a laundry room. The wow factor, the surprising element, is also welcome and required.
Lavica conceived the renovation of the apartment using the large living area. The surprise effect is immediately recognizable as the corridor, in this case impossible to avoid, is enhanced making it almost a sculpture or an installation with flooring, ceiling and consequently also the walls, having a different finish than the rest of the house. The gray resin takes the visitor by the hand through a visual path that accompanies him to discover all the parts of the house. The kitchen appears raised to create a detachment with the living room, thus opting for a difference in height. Originally the house had a stateroom and a laundry bathroom. Lavica has created a utility bathroom for the two bedrooms, a master bathroom for the master bedroom and a basic, retractable laundry room. The little girl’s bedroom, designed to measure, sees the typical elements of a small room reduced to a minimum to allow more space for play.
The palette of colors and materials is uniform and constant throughout the house.
Lavica is committed to the project in all its parts, also taking care of the selection and choice of furniture, lighting, decorations and pieces of art.
