78 sqm

Located on the top floor of a dated building in the heart of Catania, this 78 sqm apartment features 3-meter high ceilings and exposures to the east and west, offering exceptional views and plenty of natural light. The current layout is fragmented, with small rooms reducing the overall space.
The client family spends a few months a year in Catania and requested a bold and extravagant city apartment that reflects Mr. M’s passions for wine, design, and art. Additionally, Mr. M’s twin sons are passionate about Marvel superheroes.
We started by demolishing unnecessary partitions to create a superb open space. We retained the original walls’ decadent finish for a poetic and historic touch, pairing them with a new ocher-finished false wall, blending old and new in a romantic dialogue. The living room exudes a seductive atmosphere, perfectly showcasing breathtaking art pieces. The less-lit sofa-TV area is furnished with designer furniture and is the only raised part of the house. A functional frame leads to the dining room and kitchen, featuring a striking red marble block with whitish veins. Inspired by the fusion of wine and art, we designed a minimal yet impactful kitchen.
The corridor, often a design challenge, was emphasized with wine-colored resin, creating a striking visual effect. We also lowered the false ceiling to differentiate it from other areas.
The master bedroom boasts unique designer pieces, a welcoming walk-in closet, and a custom-made private bathroom.
The twins’ room is dynamic and eye-catching, customized with their favorite Marvel characters. The central wall can be rotated, adapting to the functional and practical needs of growing children.
The palette of tones and materials throughout the apartment is as seductive as fine wine, with careful selection of artworks refining the interiors.

The creative freedom granted by the client allowed us to design an apartment that exceeded his expectations, making this project a joyful and rewarding experience.
